Benefits for Members
In addition to Access and Support, University Information, and Involvement Opportunities, the Parent and Family Relations Office works with campus partners and areas businesses to offer unique benefits designed to make you feel like a part of the Ohio State family.
The following campus departments or area businesses offer discounts or benefits to Ohio State parents:
- Ohio State Recreational Facilities - As a parent of an Ohio State student, you have the opportunity to become a member of these cutting-edge facilities. Parents can use recreational sports facilities, free of cost, during weekend visits to campus. Parents are also eligible to purchase a full membership to the facilities for the faculty/staff rate. Memberships may be purchased quarterly or annually. For those who visit campus less frequently, you can purchase a daily pass for just $10 and have access to all five facilities.
If you wish to utilize recreational sports facilities during a weekend visit, please email the Parent and Family Relations Office at parentandfamily.osu.edu. Please include the following information:
Your name
You students name and dot number (i.e smith.1)
The dates of your visit
We will make arrangements to leave your passes at the RPAC front desk.

- The Blackwell - The Blackwell would like to extend a discounted room rate of $131 weekdays and $119 weekends, all exclusive of taxes and valet parking. This rate is subject to availability and is not valid during special events, (football, graduation, etc...); please call our reservations department toll-free at 866-247-4003 for more information. When calling, say you are looking for the discounted rate offered through the Parent and Family Relations Office in order to get your discount.
- The University Plaza Hotel and Conference Center- Parents receive a preferred rate of $99 per night, which reflects a discount up to $19 off the normal room rate. The hotel also offers FREE transportation to and from OSU and the Columbus International Airport. To make reservations please call University Plaza Hotel toll free at 1-877-677-5292, and be sure to ask for the Ohio State Visiting Parent Rate. Please note that this discount may not be available during peak occupancy times, which include OSU Buckeye's home football weekends and graduations.
- Ohio Union Bowl Tours- As parents of Ohio State students, you are able to purchase Student Life Bowl Game Packages each year! To inquire and/or purchase Bowl Game Packages, please call 614-247-BOWL or go to www.ohiounion.osu.edu/bowltour/Main.asp. In some cases, especially the event of a BCS Bowl, there will be limited ticket availability and high demand. In these cases a Bowl Game Package Lottery system will be use to select who will receive the rights to purchase a Game Package.
- Bistro 2110 - Located at the Blackwell at Fisher College, 2110 Tuttle Park Place, we welcome you with a 10% discount off the entire check when you tell us that you are a parent of a current Ohio State student. (Discount does not include alcoholic beverages and is not valid on special event dates, ask about availability) Please come spend you next dining experience with family reservations recommended, but not required. Call 247-2110 for reservations.
- Oxley's Restaurant - located in The Fawcett Conference Center a unique part of the university. In a contemporary atmosphere Oxley's is recognized as providing wonderful and creative dining. Oxley's features a daily Lunch Buffet (Monday - Friday). Parents receive a 15% discount.
- College Town - offers a 15% discount on regular and sale priced OSU apparel and gifts to Parent and Family Relations members. Be sure you reference being a part of the Parent and Family Relations Office. Customers can also shop online at www.collegetown-ohiostate.com. Please call (614) 294-0688 for any questions or additional information.
- Laundry Care - Laundry Care is a premier wash and fold laundry service with free pick-up and delivery for the OSU campus area. We would like to provide a discount to parents and students of $5 off our one time wash & fold service and $25 off our quarter plan. With both service plans a complimentary bag is provided to the parent or student that can hold up to 20 lbs of clothing. Dry cleaning and ironing is also available. To schedule a pick-up please call us at 614-429-4008 or visit our website at www.laundrycare.biz. To receive the discount please mention that you were referred by the Parent and Family Relations Office.
