Visiting or Departing Campus

Whether you are planning a visit to campus or planning on getting your students home, there are many resources available to assist.  Use this site for all your Ohio State visitation or travel needs.
The closest airport to Ohio State's Columbus campus is the  John Glenn International Airport. John Glenn Internantional Airport, is an international airport located 6 miles (10 kilometers) east of downtown Columbus. John Glenn International Airport is primarily a passenger airport, providing over 190 non-stop flights to roughly 44 airports via 15 airlines daily. The airport code for John Glenn International is 'CMH'.
Airport Transportation
If your student will need transportation to the John Glenn International Airport, Central Ohio Transit Authority, or COTA, offers a special Ohio State campus shuttle to and from John Glenn International Airport during finals week and upon the conclusion of break.  If you have questions, contact COTA at 614-228-1776. The hours are: M-F 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., Sat-Sun 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Holidays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The COTA website also has a convenient Trip Planner that can assist you in determining bus routes around the city of Columbus. COTA is a free service to Ohio State students.Visit find all of the schedules and routes.  Your student may also choose to utilize taxi services to and from the John Glenn International Airport. The approximate fare one way from the Ohio State Columbus Campus is $25-30, but some variations may occur due to wait time, traffic, etc. Numbers of a few area taxi services are: Blue Cab: (614) 333-3333 ; Yellow Cab: (614) 444-4444 Columbus is a city that is served by pure to pure ride sharing like Uber and Lyft. If you are unfamiliar with Uber or Lyft, they are ride referral services that use a smart phone application to pair riders with individuals, who are using their own cars, to provide rides.  Ride costs vary by a range of factors though charges are done directly to an account that is set-up in advance (so no cash exchanges hands).
