Visiting or Departing Campus

Whether you are planning a visit to campus or planning on getting your students home, there are many resources available to assist.  Use this site for all your Ohio State visitation or travel needs.
The closest airport to Ohio State's Columbus campus is the Port Columbus International Airport. Port Columbus, is an international airport located 6 miles (10 kilometers) east of downtown Columbus. Port Columbus is primarily a passenger airport, providing over 190 non-stop flights to roughly 44 airports via 15 airlines daily. The airport code for Port Columbus is 'CMH'.
Airport Transportation
If your student will need transportation to the Port Columbus International Airport, Central Ohio Transit Authority, or COTA, offers a special Ohio State campus shuttle to and from Port Columbus Airport during finals week and upon the conclusion of break. The bus is number 52. Visit Line 52 OSU/Airport Schedule to find all of the schedules and routes. If you have questions, contact COTA at 614-228-1776. Their hours are: M-F 6 a.m. - 8 p.m., Sat-Sun 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Holidays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The COTA website also has a convenient Trip Planner that can assist you in determining bus routes around the city of Columbus. COTA is a free service to Ohio State students. 
Your student may also choose to utilize taxi services to and from the Port Columbus International Airport. The approximate fare one way from the Ohio State Columbus Campus is $25-30, but some variations may occur due to wait time, traffic, etc. Numbers of a few area taxi services are:

Columbus is a city that is served by Uber. If you are unfamiliar with Uber, it is a ride referral service that uses a smart phone application to pair riders with individuals, who are using their own cars, to provide rides.  Ride costs vary by a range of factors though charges are done directly to an account that is set-up in advance (so no cash exchanges hands).  You can read more about Uber, how it works and set up an account by clicking here.
Bus Transportation
Columbus Greyhound Station is located at 111 E. Town Street Columbus, Ohio 43215. For tickets and travel information visit their website at
Megabus Service is available to/from Columbus from Chicago, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Megabus does some pick-ups from the Ohio Union and also has a station located at the northwest corner of Nationwide Blvd. and High Street. Visit their website here to book your trip!
