As Associate Dean of Students and Senior Director of Student Activities and Orientation, Dr. Matt Couch oversees student engagement initiatives, campus events, services for the community of registered student organizations, support for Ohio State's three student governments, and Student Life's portion of new student orientation. Matt supports the directors of Ohio Union Events & Operations and Student Life Sustainability Education and Engagement, serves as a liaison to Student Life colleagues on Ohio State's regional campuses, and engages in shared governance as the administrator for the Council on Student Affairs. He is also an adjunct instructor in the higher education and student affairs master's program. Matt earned bachelor's degrees in psychology and linguistics from the College of William & Mary and both an MA and a PhD in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State. He has worked in Student Life at Ohio State since 1997.
