Brooke Tacsar

  • Title: Student Assistant
Brooke is a second-year undergraduate student pursuing public affairs journalism and criminology and criminal justice studies with a minor in nonprofit management. Since fall 2022, she has served as a Student Assistant for Parent and Family Relations, where she spearheads the creation and writing of Department Debriefs, a well-acknowledged monthly article series ranking as one of the most popular family resources available on our website. Her responsibilities extend to project development aimed at enhancing communication efforts and efficiency, assisting in managing parent inquiries and supporting staff with event planning and execution.
 
Deeply committed to community involvement, Brooke is a reporter and copy editor for The Lantern, holds editorial and membership roles in Her Campus and is a Student Experience and Engagement Delegate Cohort. Furthermore, she has participated in four Buck-I-SERV trips, volunteering with local nonprofits in Kansas City, Nashville, Atlanta and Ghana to address economic insecurity, food insecurity, mentoring youth in a juvenile detention center and supporting an orphanage in Africa. Brooke's contributions have been recognized by the Dean's Leadership Award for her alignment with the office's mission and campus-wide positive impact. As a proud first-generation student, Brooke is undoubtedly a Buckeye.
